Existing datasets can be valuable to your research.

Available research data can generally be broken into groups:

Statistics are presented in graphs, charts and tables.  Data are most often available in machine-readable files that require analysis with statistical software tools.

For data or statistics produced or collected by governments, organizations and commercial providers:

• re3data.org, a global registry of research data repositories from all academic disciplines

For statistics produced by academics and other researchers:

• Search for books, journal articles, reports, etc.
